A baby's life can be very busy, especially since I have to learn everything from scratch. I was able to wake up Dad long enough to post these new photos and assorted thoughts on my first full week at the house.
The best time to be awake is 3 AM although Mom & Dad don't seem to agree with me on that. They think I should be awake when it's bright out and sleep at night. For right now we kind of compromise but we will have to see who wins out in the end. So far my favorite place to sleep is right next to Mom but I have also tried my crib to some success. They play music for me in my room and that keeps me pretty calm and entertained. Overall I sleep 14-16 hours throughout the day... Mom & Dad get considerably less than that amount.
After Grandpa Matthew came out to see me this weekend, I have officially met all my immediate Grandparents. Being part of such a big family it is tough to meet all my relatives but I look forward to it sometime real soon.

Thursday: With all the positive test results back and Mom doing well with her recovery, the doctors said it was alright for us to checkout and go home. Mom & Dad said they would be happy to be able to sleep in their own bed again and to show me my new room. I finished my morning snack, got a new diaper and was ready to try on my new outfit. Mom tells me that the sweater is the same one that she came from the hospital in when she was my size. Next, we got all our stuff packed up and I got fitted for my very own seat in the car. Dad carried me down and loaded me in and it was off for home.
plenty of space for me to play. Thank you to everyone for the great gifts, I will enjoy them everyday :) We settled in for the rest of the day with a quick nap, some more food, diaper changes and plenty of sleep. I peed on Dad when he was changing me because the room was a little colder than I was used to. He wasn't mad...he is just happy to have me home. I cried a little during the night for a new diaper and Hobbes got scared again but Mom took good care of me and it was back to sleep. Overall my first day home was a complete success and I'm very happy to have a space all my own with the people who love me most.

weighed and measured (5 lbs 9 ounces and 19.5” long). After a little wait to declare me perfectly healthy it was time to meet mom. I knew her voice from our belly time together but now I finally got to put a face with the voice. She is amazing for taking care of me this whole time, so I rewarded her by stopping crying immediately when placed next to her. After a very long day we were moved to our new room to settle in for the night. Everyone is very sleepy, so that is all for now.Tuesday: It’s my first full day in the world. My baby routine got off on the right foot with plenty of eating, pooping and sleeping. Much to my parent’s delight I like to sleep for hours at a time. They tell me I’m getting the right amount of rest so hopefully I can continue on this pattern. Mom took care of all the feeding, she smells so good I calm down every time I’m near her.
Dad changed my diaper with some assistance from Auntie Kristin…he did pretty good but will get better with more tries. They are still learning how to fold the swaddle blanket for me so the nurse helps them. My parents will be great with the right training. I’ll get them up to speed before you know it. My first round of visitors came by and it was a pleasure to meet everyone for the first time.
Visitors: Grandpa Dave, Grandma Cathie, Grandma Tina, Auntie Kristin
Wednesday: Last full day at the hospital! Today I slept a lot, about 16 hours. Dad got to feed me a few times with a finger and tube combo. At first I gave him a perplexed look because I have tried my fingers plenty and nothing food related has come out yet. But after some insistence I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Low and behold it is a magic finger that has food. From now on I trust him to be able to feed me in addition to mom. He has also got the diaper changing down pretty well, so I have decided to cooperate and straighten my “frog” legs so he can fasten the tabs even easier – good teamwork. Mom got some much needed rest and recovery time as dad and I bonded from 7:30 P-12:30 A. I keep hearing about the kitties that are waiting to meet me when I get home. Apparently I am on pace to sleep as much as Hobbes (orange tiger cat, 7 yrs old). I also understand that Elsa (black cat, 4 yrs old) had tested my stroller for comfort and reported back quite favorably. The second day of visitors had some familiar names…can you tell my Grandparents are excited or what? Their love is always appreciated.
